As a neighborhood advocate for more than 20 years, Guidry was elected to her current seat in 2010 as a first-time candidate. Since then, New Orleans has undergone a significant transformation, in part due to Guidry’s tireless efforts.

“As Mayor, I have worked with this City Council every day to make our city safe, to create jobs and to attract retail, to improve opportunities for our kids, and to rebuild all of our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “We’ve made a lot of progress together in the last four years, and there is more to be done. I know Susan will continue to be a great partner representing District “A”. We need her experience on the City Council to keep the district moving forward.”
