Making Government Work
Councilmember Guidry is known for her thoughtful, long-term approach to fixing deep-seeded problems in government, including the criminal justice system, utilities and infrastructure, and the way business is done. As Chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee, Guidry has led the charge on improving the way New Orleans city government works.
One of Guidry’s most significant achievements to improve governance has been presiding over the review and recommendation of approximately 400 appointments to various city boards and commissions. As a result of Guidry’s efforts, these city boards and commissions are now more effective and efficient.
